Method
HREE Pulse is a desk, not a terminal. 52 public names, scored so the movers surface. Private companies are out. China quota producers are out of the trade book — they set the price, they are not the setup.
Name
Working name is HREE Pulse (HREEPulse.com) — short, insider, parallel to SPACPulse.com. Heavy rare earths are the scarce Western problem; the desk still covers NdPr, processors, recyclers and magnet makers.
Alternate: RareEarthPulse.com — longer, better for search and first-time readers. Keep the product wordmark as HREE Pulse either way. Both sit under the Pulse umbrella.
Pulse score
0–100, additive. Not a DCF. Rough components: catalyst proximity + government/strategic support + Nasdaq-path / listing signals + valuation & execution + stage progress.
A proxy card equivalent: dated catalysts, government paper, listing path, technical de-risking, and whether the setup is interesting versus stuck.
Catalyst proximity /25
Dated drills, studies, votes, FID, first oxide. Stalled calendars score near zero.
Gov / strategic /25
DoD, EXIM, EFA, floor prices, offtakes, strategic equity. LOIs score below binding.
US listing path /20
Nasdaq/NYSE already listed scores high. OTCQB + 12g, dual listing, or explicit uplist path next.
De-risking /20
Stage, metallurgy, permits, radioactivity, offtake-ready product. A resource is not a mine.
Setup /10
Valuation vs contained MagREO and stage. Cheap-and-stuck scores lower than expensive-and-moving.
Labels: 86+ Accelerating · 76–85 Strong · 66–75 Medium-strong · 52–65 Building · 40–51 Quiet · below 40 Stalled. Nasdaq without tonnes (see EMAT) can still stall.
Fields on a card
- Tape — ticker, exchange, last, cap, volume, 52-week, 1y. Snapshot, not live. Sources: exchange last close, company filings.
- Company — blurb, HQ, site, focus (NdPr / HREE / mixed / processing / magnets / recycle).
- People — CEO, board/technical tells, insider note if material.
- Project — flagship, jurisdiction, deposit type, TREO tonnage & grade, NdPr/MagREO split, stage, U/Th flag.
- Support — DoD/DoW, EXIM/DFC, EFA/NAIF, grants, floors, offtakes, LOIs. Binding outranks language.
- The Pulse — short opinionated catalyst paragraph plus Nasdaq-path tell.
Sources
- NI 43-101 / JORC technical reports and FS/PFS/PEA tables — primary for resource.
- SEDAR+, ASX, EDGAR, AIM — for offtakes, financings, FIDs.
- Company presentations only when they cite a dated technical report.
- USGS / Adamas / project offtake contracts for price context — never a junior’s “in-ground value” slide.
- Exchange last sale for the tape snapshot. No Yahoo scrape in the product loop yet.
Rare-earth data traps
- TREO vs payable basket
- Cerium and lanthanum pad most Western carbonatites. Score MagREO (Nd+Pr+Dy+Tb) and, where possible, recovered MagREO — not TREO grade. Blank MagREO is a yellow flag.
- Price opacity
- There is no single Western NdPr print. China domestic, FOB, and contracted floors now coexist. The desk uses $110/kg as the 2026 policy floor (DoD, JOGMEC), not as a junior’s realized price. Dy/Tb are a different tape and still China-set on the margin.
- Ionic clay vs hard rock
- Clays look cheap and HREE-rich, then die in reagent, water, and Brazilian/Chilean permits. Hard rock looks simple until thorium licensing and crack-leach capex show up. Do not multiple them on the same EV/kt line without a recovery note.
- Radioactivity
- Monazite carries U/Th. That is a permit and a offtake fact, not a footnote. Low-Th carbonatites (Springer) and gypsum stacks (Phalaborwa) score a de-risking tell.
- Concentrate is not oxide
- A mine without a Western separator is a China-adjacent feedstock story. Processors (White Mesa, LAMP, Eneabba, RapidSX, Dynamo) are first-class citizens on this desk.
- In-ground value slides
- Spot × contained metal × 100% recovery is marketing. The compare tab uses EV / contained MagREO kt as a screen, then the card writes why it is wrong.
- Nasdaq vs OTCQB
- OTCQB is a step. Nasdaq needs holders, bid, governance, and usually a story a US allocator can own. SPAC listings (USAR, EMAT) prove the listing can arrive before the tonnes. Pulse scores listing path, then discounts empty plants.
What this desk is not
Not 200 issuers. Not China Northern. Not a live feed. Not investment advice. Watchlist and notes persist in the browser. When the tape is wired later, snapshot prices get replaced — the pulse write-ups stay human.
